Holiday cheer fills the campus
Good holiday cheer filled the campus on December 3 as the University hosted a tree lighting ceremony and holiday reception. The University Choir opened the ceremony with holiday songs that had the audience singing along and getting into the holiday spirit. Next, Interim President Everett Ward, Ph.D. and his small Falcon helpers turned on the light switch for the Christmas trees that beautifully lit up the University quadrangle.
After the tree lighting ceremony, faculty and staff moved over to a holiday reception in the Martin Luther King Jr. Conference Center. Laughter, music, food and fellowship filled the building as the Saint Augustine’s University family had an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season.
During the celebration, seniors who will complete their academic requirements in December were recognized. The University and the National Alumni Association gave away gift cards and there was a grand prize giveaway of a 50 inch flat screen television, which was won by Tesa Ferrell, fixed assets manager.
