A fallen Falcon honored
The university mourned the loss of Falcon Ronald Cunningham Jr., a first-year student from Virginia, on Sunday, April 6. In his honor, the School of Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering recognized Cunningham, who was a science, technology, engineering and mathematics student-athlete, by establishing an award in his honor. The criteria for a student to be selected are he or she must be a student-athlete, exemplify Christian servant-hood, congeniality, character, responsibility and integrity. Faculty within the school will vote and select a student each year. This year, the faculty selected Shoquez Nelson, who is a senior from Lake City, S.C., to be the first recipient.
